Doggone Technology was formed to help people with their technological needs.
The name was born from self-evaluation when things aren’t going our way. The first thing that comes out of our mouth is usually ‘GOSH DARN IT!!!” (Okay, so probably something close to that).
We can’t be the only people who do this. Be honest, when your computer doesn’t work do you sit there and smile? Or what about when your printer won’t print? Or maybe you have a website and out of the blue it just won’t load or looks weird? We’re guessing you’re like us and a few choice words go through your head.
We’ve all been there and that’s where the idea came from. Unfortunately the state of Nebraska frowns on swearing in formal business names (we can’t imagine why), so we had to settle with Doggone instead.
Our Mission
At Doggone Tech, we strive to provide reliable, professional, and expert assistance to anyone who may need it. Our goal is to reduce if not eliminate the stresses you may have with any technology available today.
We fulfill this mission in three ways:
- Through educational resources we create on our resources blog and YouTube channel
- Through education seminars, courses, events, and web events
- Through personalized partner relationships (PPRs) with our clients
You may have noticed that education is a big part of our mission. That’s because education is the main focus for us. You can read more about why in our about the owner section below, but trust us when we say we know education works when done correctly and we firmly believe everyone can learn how to use any technology given the right resources. So, we started working…
1. Educational Resources
The educational resources on our Resource Blog and on our YouTube Channel are designed to be entertaining as well as informative. We try to take our experience with teaching in a traditional format and rework it so it’s a little less academic and more accessible to a wider audience outside a classroom.
Many of these resources are free for anyone to use, while some are exclusive to our clients/partners or subscribers.
2. Education Seminars, Courses, and Events
We know that people learn in different ways. The videos and resources are great for self driven learners, but that style doesn’t work for everyone. The events, courses, and seminars are designed for those who enjoy and learn best from small group and one-on-one training.
Prices and location for these events vary based on the topic being discussed. Depending on the event, some are free while some will require a fee to offset the cost of take home materials, equipment, and space rental.
3. Partnerships
Finally, if self-guided resources or one of our seminars doesn’t fit the bill or you need something more tailored to your needs, we love to create partnerships with clients. This is meant for those who either:
- Really don’t want to learn how to do something, they just want it done and to not have to worry about it.
- Want to learn and eventually manage it themselves, but need a specific training track created for their needs.
We don’t believe in the typical business/client relationship where we give you a product we give to everyone else and you pay us. We like to learn about you to understand your needs as best as we can so we can accurately tailor our services to you.
This is why if this is something you need, we view it as more of a partnership. It’s more involved, it’s completely unique to your needs not our preferences, and you get only what you want rather than needing to piece information together to do it on your own.
Example Partnership
Web Development
Let’s say you need a website for your small business. You’ve tried to make your own, but it isn’t coming together right. You’ve spent hours researching how to build a website, watched videos and read tutorials, and they either aren’t providing the information you need or you have just spent too much valuable time with no return.
This is where we are at our best and where we differ from other companies. We use a process we learned through teaching, not in a business classroom. If we told you what the process was you would think its long and complicated, but it can usually be done during a phone call that lasts just a few minutes. We do this because it’s the only way we can give you recommendations made for you and your needs rather than giving you what we prefer.
Once we go through that short process, we work with you to create a custom plan to move forward. We don’t push things for our sake like some do. We try to think what will work for you financially, for peak functionality, and for longevity. We love WordPress and we recommend it a lot, but it’s far from the only option.
After we agree on what needs to be done we put it in a contract with clear objectives, deliverables, and timelines so you know exactly what to expect. We don’t require lengthy contracts for content management or maintenance to work with us. If part of the plan is you want us to teach you how to manage your website without us, we will do that.
That’s unheard of and honestly, it’s not a great business model for us. But we don’t think it’s right to take advantage of people by forcing them into something they don’t need just to get a simple website built.
Partnership Perks:
That was just an example of how we do business and a lot of services we provide aren’t as complicated as building a website, but hopefully you get the point. Everything we do is about you and every service has the same perks:
- Nearly unlimited access to our online knowledge base.
- Prioritized service while under contract.
- No required contract length.
- No requirements for content management on website development.
- Discounts for services with prolonged service agreements.
- Clearly defined service agreements.

About the Owner
A crazy winding journey
Hello, my name is Greg Perdue and I’m the current own of Doggone Technology LLC. I’ve been working with computers, electronics, and designing websites since 1995. I had no idea what I was doing then (I was only ten) and I broke more things than I fixed, but I loved it. All of it.
For many years I learned a lot by trial and error. In fact I have the scars to prove it. But In middle school and high school I took a few classes in web design and have been doing it off and on ever since. Eventually I went to college for audio recording technology where I learned the right way to repair low voltage equipment as well as computers.
After graduating from the Northeast Community College Audio Recording Program in 2006 I started working in the entertainment industry and have been doing so ever since. I also began my journey as an educator at this time, enrolling at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for Music Education. I love teaching and it stuck with me to the point where I started this business. The marriage of these two things might not make much sense, but let me explain.
Through the years I’ve worked as a sound engineer for some of the largest organizations in the Nebraska and Iowa area. During that time I wore many hats. From a general stagehand up to the lead Production Manager and Technical Director for multiple venues, and everything in between. This wide range of experiences gave me access to some of the most knowledgeable people in the world in every area of tech. It’s because of these professionals that I have learned what I’ve learned and learned how to help others learn tech as they go. Access is everything.
During that time I also developed curriculum and taught for two colleges in Nebraska. I realized as a student in college and even more so after graduating that tech skills are lacking in most college curriculum. Yet, they are now required in ever sector of our world. The requirements vary from job to job, but all industries have an ever evolving technology requirement for their workforce.
It dawned on me that this type of training is needed and is hard to come by at an affordable price from experts outside of web tutorials and YouTube videos that often aren’t made for success. Recognizing this, I took those college courses I was teaching and began to adapt them for a wider audience. Specifically audio basics for music teachers. I only did one-on-one small training sessions to learn what is helpful. What I learned is that education works, for everyone willing to learn.
This simple idea of problem solving tech and helping others to do it on their own is how Doggone Technology LLC was born. All those hats I’ve worn over the years have given me a unique perspective while looking at problems when something just isn’t working. I take all these skills with me to every job and that includes yours, no matter what it may be.
While I firmly believe everyone can keep up with tech skills or learn new tech skills I realize not everyone wants to do that. If they aren’t interested in doing it themselves, I love helping people with tech issues and doing it for them. The more difficult the better.
Thank you for taking time to learn more about Doggone Technology. Please let us know if there’s anything we can help you with.
